These are relished hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.


250 grams of besan ( chana flour)

3 tablespoons of rice flour

3 tablespoons of Maida

2 tablespoons of corn flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 large potato finely chopped

1 large carrot finely chopped

2 onions finely chopped

3 spring onions finely chopped

1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

½ teaspoon of cumin powder

½ teaspoon of turmeric powder

½ teaspoon of chilli powder

Salt to taste

300 millilitres of water- to make the batter

Oil for shallow frying the pancakes

Step By Step Method

  • Mix all the ingredients and make a thick batter with water. Keep aside for 10 minutes. Grease a thick bottomed pan and heat it. Spread the batter for making nice and round pancakes. Drizzle some oil around to shallow fry till deep yellow on both the sides. Serve them hot with green chutney.
