It is a delicious sweet, lightly spiced creamy milk concoction welcomed in Holi to beat the heat.


Ingredients

  • 10 green cardamoms
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of fennel seeds
  • ½ teaspoon of black peppercorns
  • ½ teaspoon of coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of melon/sunflower seeds
  • 50 grams skinned almonds
  • 7 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of rose petals
  • 2 tablespoons of rose water
  • 1 litre milk

Step By Step Method

  • Lightly roast the spices on a girdle and soak all the ingredients in enough water for 2 hours except milk and rose petals. Grind them to a fine paste and blend in with the milk. Now strain the concoction through a clean muslin cloth, sprinkle a few rose petals and serve chilled.
