Potato is one of the most loved vegetable all across India. I decided to marinate it in tandoori masala and bake in oven and served it as starter.

Potatos – 3 (Medium sized) Curd – 3 tbsp (hung or thick) Salt – 1/2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder – 1/4 tbsp Haldi – 1/4 tbsp Dhaniya Powder – 1/4 tbsp Garam Masala Powder – 1/4 tbsp Ginger, Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp Green Chilli Paste – 1/4 tbsp Mustard Oil – 1.5 tbsp Lemon juice – 1/4 tbsp (optional) Coriander Leaves for garnishing

Prestige Baking Tray

Step By Step Method

  • 1. Boil potatoes in pressure cooker till 1 whistle. 2..Cut potatoes in 4 wedges and add all ingredients, just spare some coriander for later. 3. Rub gently on wedges and keep them aside for half an hour. 4. Place a peice of coal on gas burner and burn it, then place a small bowl over marinated potatoes and place coal on the bowl, add a tablespoon of ghee or mustard oil and cover it for 2 to 3 mins. 5.Preheat oven at 220 ℃ or 425 Fahrenheit. 6. Place wedges on a baking tray and bake for 20 mins @ 220℃ 7. Sprinkle some chopped coriander. 8. Serve hot with Green Chutney , Mayonnaise or ketchup. Notes: 1. Potatoes should be just boiled, you can adjust time as per the size of potatos. 2. We can use raw potatoes as well then we will have to increase time to around 45 mins. 3. I prefer using raw mustard oil, u can replace it with oil of your choice, or if you dont like sharpness of mustard oil then you can heat it and then cool down and then use in marination.
