It is a popular hard candy like sweet that is relished during Makar Sankranti in Punjab.


½ cup sesame seeds( lightly roasted)

½ cup sugar

? cup of water

1 teaspoon of ghee

¼ teaspoon of cardamom powder

Step By Step Method

  • Heat the water ,sugar, cardamom powder and ghee together in a thick bottomed sauce pan. Once it begins to boil, introduce the roasted sesame seeds into it and mix them up well. As the blend starts to leave the sides of the pan, switch off the heat source. Now add spoonfuls of this mixture onto a greased plate, to form individual pieces. Once it cools down, they look like blobs of hard candy. These delicious sweets are ready for the season.
