This prawn Curry is traditional konkani recipe with goodness of coconut.


Ingredients

Prawn - 250 gms peeled and deveined Fresh grated coconut - 100 gms Dry red chilli - 7-8 Onion - 1 medium Tomato - 1 medium Fenel seeds - 1/4th tsp Coriander seeds - 1/4th tsp Turmeric powder - 2 pinch Curry leaves -, for tadka Hing - for tadka Coconut oil - for tadka Garlic - 3-4 Salt - as per taste Coriander leaves - for garnish Kokam - 3-4 For rice 1 cup of rice Water - 2-3 cups

Step By Step Method

  • For curry Soak dry red chilli in warm water for 30 minutes. Marinate prawns with salt n Turmeric powder For masala grind together coconut, garlic, fenel seeds, Coriander seeds, half onion, tomato and red chilli. Make a fine paste. For tadka take earthen pot. Once it's hot put 2 tsp of coconut oil add half roughly cut onion, Hing, curry leaves to it. Saute that fr some time now add marinated prawns n saute fr another 3-4 mins. Add red Masala to it add some water n salt and let it boil fr 4-5 minutes. Now add kokam to the curry and let it boil fr -1-2 mins. Garnish with Coriander leaves n serve with steam rice For steam rice Wash the rice nicely Boil the water nicely. Add soaked rice in boiling water and let it cook for 10-12 mins. Once it's cooked take out extra water from it.
