Steaming hot masala chai is a total treat during the monsoons.


  • 3 cups of Water
  • 2 tablespoons of Tea Leaves.
  • 2 tablespoons of Sugar
  • ½ cup of Milk ( add more as per taste)
  • 2 Cardamoms
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 stick of Cinnamon ( Broken into pieces)
  • ⅛ teaspoon of freshly ground Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground Ginger

Step By Step Method

  • Step 1
    Crush the cardamoms, cloves and cinnamon in a mortar and pestle.

    Step 2

    Pour these contents into a saucepan, along with ginger and pepper.

    Step 3

    Pour water and bring the contents to a boil. Remove from the heat source, keep it covered for 5 minutes to let it steep the water.

    Step 4

    Add milk and sugar to the boiled mixture and once again bring it to a boil.

    Step 5

    Remove the saucepan from the heat source and add the tea leaves to it. Keep this covered for another 3-4 minutes.

    Step 6

    Now open the lid, give it a good stir and strain this masala chai into cups. Enjoy the masala chai with hot crispies.
