Kharak Ka Halwa is a light, nutritious and sugar less dessert. This Indian dessert is a combination of kharak(dried dates), milk, desi ghee, jaggery and nuts.


1. 200 grams kharak(dried dates) 2. 1 cup milk 3. 50 gram jaggery 4. 2 tbsp desi ghee 5. 1/2 cup water 6. Cashews 7. Pistachios 8. Watermelon seeds 9. 4 tbsp milk powder

Step By Step Method

  • Halwa preparation: 1. Soak kharak(dried dates) overnight. 2. Deseed soaked kharak and grind to a fine paste. 3. Heat a pot and add desi ghee to it. 4. Add grinded kharak to ghee and sauté for 2 minutes. 5. Add milk to the sautéed mixture and let it cook till the milk evaporate. 6. After milk gets evaporated, add milk powder and cook for 5 minutes. 7. The halwa is ready. Jaggery syrup preparation: 1. Boil water and jaggery in the pot. 2. Sieve the syrup to remove all the impurities from the jaggery. 3. Again boil the syrup till it reaches one string consistency. 4. The jaggery syrup is ready. Present tha halwa on plate and drrizle jaggery syrup. Garnish the halwa with all the dry fruits.
