Instant Garlic Coconut rice flour upma is an healthy and nutritious South Karnataka's kannadiga's(Mysore) dish prepared from rich and essential fiber, vitamins and minerals packed garlic, coconut ,corriander, curry leaves and few other ingredients which can be consumed by kids to old aged people . Immunity enhancer, antioxidant and antibiotic garlic and nutritious packed coconut ,onions ,healthy leaves and others ingredients are used.


Ingredients

1 cup slightly course rice flour, 1 cup fresh grated coconut, 9 to 10 cloves of garlic chopped into two, three parts, 2 chopped onions, Jeera,asafoetida, 5 to 6 green chillies, Few mustard seeds, groundnut, bengal gram,urad dal and 3 tablespoons of oil for frying. 2 stalks of finely chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves.

Mixing bowl - 2, Prestige Idli Plates with Prestige Cooker or Big size Idli maker, Prestige frying pan, Spatula, Prestige mixer for chutney.

Step By Step Method

  • First mix slightly course rice flour, grated coconut and little salt in a bowl.To this add water then mix well and transfer this mixture into idli plates to cook them well in steam in a cooker as shown in photos.Cook in steam for 15 to 20 minutes . After its cooked well in steam , let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes and then remove cooked mixture from idli plates to big bowl and break into course powder. Next in a frying pan put oil to boil then add few mustard seeds, groundnuts,Bengal gram, urad dal,jeera, asafoetida and garlic to fry well till garlic turns white to yellowish. Now add onions,chillies,curry leaves and little coriander leaves fry till onions turn golden brown.Now mix this well with above powdered mixture and heat it together for few more minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and now its ready to serve hot with red coconut chutney. Steps to prepare red chutney: Fry dry red chillies in low flame till you get its aroma for few minutes, let it cool n then add to this, little grated coconut, split roasted gram, 5 cloves of garlic,curry leaves, little coriander leaves and water in a mixer to grind well.
