Spicy and tangy chilli paneer tastes heavenly on a wet rainy day.


  • 200 grams of cubed Paneer
  • ½  teaspoon of Red chilli Powder
  • ½  teaspoon of Pepper Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of Cornstarch
  • 1 medium sized Capsicum- cubed
  • 1 medium sized Onion - cubed
  • ⅓ cup of Spring Onions (Greens)
  • 1 inch of minced Ginger
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of minced Garlic
  • 2 finely chopped Green Chillies
  • 1 teaspoon of Sweet Red Chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of Green Chilli Sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of Soy Sauce
  • Sugar to taste
  • Cooking oil as required

Step By Step Method

  • Step 1

    In a mixing bowl, mix the Paneer cubes with salt, corn starch, ¼ red chilli powder and ¼ pepper powder.

    Step 2

    Shallow fry the paneer pieces in a pan and keep aside.

    Step 3

    Add a tablespoon of water in this mixing bowl and mix well with remaining spices and cornstarch, after you have removed the paneer pieces to shallow fry.

    Step 4

    Use this water that incorporates the spices and cornstarch in it towards the end to the sauces added for the paneer chilli recipe.(to glaze)

    Step 5

    In the same pan, stir fry the green chillies, along with the minced ginger and garlic.

    Step 6

    Add the diced onions and stir fry till translucent.

    Step 7

    Now stir fry the cubed capsicum for a couple of minutes.

    Step 8

    Add the sweet red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, ¼ teaspoon each of red chilli powder and pepper powder and soy sauce now. Give it a good stir.

    Step 9

    Add a little sugar and adjust the salt now.

    Step 10

    Add the shallow fried paneer cubes now along with the water containing cornstarch and spices to glaze the dish now. Serve Chilli Paneer hot, garnished with the spring onion greens.
