Chicken Changezi is a Mughlai dish.


1 kg Chicken cut in medium pieces 
For marination
3 tablespoons curd
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon red chilly powder 
1/2 teaspoon salt 
Marinate the chicken pieces with the above ingredients for 15 minutes.
For Gravy
3 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon butter 
1 large onion sliced
2 Tomatoes blend into a paste 
7-8 cashewnuts soaked in warm water 
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
1 tablespoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon haldi
1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
1/2 cup fresh cream 
1 teaspoon dried methi leaves 
1 teaspoon salt


Step By Step Method

  • Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan, add onions & cashew nuts, fry until the onions turn golden brown. Let it cool down for some time and then grind into a fine paste. Keep aside.
    In the same vessel, fry the marinated chicken till it turns dry & semi-cooked. Transfer it in a bowl and keep aside.
    Heat oil in a pan, add the ginger garlic paste, tomato paste & all the dry masalas except the garam masala, stir fry on medium heat till oil starts separating.
    Reduce the flame, add in the chicken, give it a mix. 
    Add the onion & cashew paste, salt & the garam masala powder. Mix well & let the chicken cook on low flame till it’s done.
    Once the chicken is cooked add the cream, butter & give a stir. 
    Serve with Jeera rice or Parathas.
