How to Make a Chicken Biryani. Learn to cook a perfect chicken biryani in easy steps. Deep fry the onions: While the chicken is marinating, slice the onions


Basmati rice - 2 cups
Water - 4 cups
Chicken - 700 gms
Curds - 1/2 cup
Chili powder - 1/2 tsp.
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp.
Salt to taste
Green chilies - 4 to 6
Onion chopped - 4 nos
Chopped Mint leaves - 6 tsp.
Chopped Coriander leaves - 6 tsp.
Ghee- 6 tsp.
Biryani powder - 2 tsp

Step By Step Method

  • Step 1. To the chicken, add curd, salt, red chili powder, garlic - ginger paste.Leave it to marinate for 2 to 4 hours. (Over night in the fridge would be still better) In the cooker, fry onions in ghee till they are light brown in “Cook” mode.

    Step 2. Add the marinated chicken. Cook well till the liquid dries (about 5 minutes).
    Add rice, water, biryani powder, chopped mint leaves, chopped coriander leaves, green chilies and salt.

    Step 3. Mix well and keep the cooker on Cook mode. Once the cooker comes to “Keep Warm” mode, remove the biryani from cooker.

    Step 4. Serve hot with raita.
