6 Raw Bananas

¼ cup boiled peas

¼ cup of boiled and finely chopped beetroot

4-5 green chillies finely chopped

1” piece finely chopped ginger

1 tablespoon each of finely chopped fresh coriander and mint leaves

½ teaspoon of turmeric powder

½ teaspoon of asafoetida

½ teaspoon each of mustard and cumin seeds

1 teaspoon of Amchur powder

Salt to taste

Oil to deep fry

1- ½ cups of breadcrumbs

Step By Step Method

  • Steam the bananas with the skin. Remove the skin and mash them up nicely while still hot. Keep them aside. Now take a pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil and let the mustard and cumin seeds splutter. Add the asafoetida, turmeric, amchur powder, mashed peas, beetroot, salt, mint, coriander, green chillies, ginger and mix them up well. Add the mashed bananas to this and mix them up. Shape this mixture into cutlets and roll them in breadcrumbs until coated well. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the cutlets till golden brown. Serve them hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
